DCD® Cinnamon

Cinnamon (Verum and Cassia) has a variety of culinary and flavouring applications. In the Phytochemicals industry the enzymes and actives present in the bark of cinnamon, such as eugenol for example, are being used to manufacture medicines to help control diabetes; anti-viral properties that have been seen to inhibit the replication of the virus causing Herpes in vitro.  A study on an extract of Cinnamomum cassia has also been determined to have an effect on HIV-1. Cinnamon leaf oil is also believed to be useful in repelling insects, including mosquitos (DCD® is able to easily produce these oils).  Extracts of Cinnamon have also been seen to have a positive effect on Parkinsons and Alzheimers.
